I'd have to say 2013 won me over. It's not that it's more scary, though, I didn't find either to be scary. Anyway, the actress in 2013 kept a constant feel about her throughout the film. You could see how sheltered she was at any given moment, and in turn made the joy she felt during prom all the more believable. The 76 just tried to look as scared as possible, it didn't matter what she was thinking, as long as she looked terrified. Similar goes for during the bloodshed, 2013 actually expressed enjoyment out of what she was doing. The hand movements further emphasized her emotions towards whoever it was she was harming. This time 76 tried to come off as emotionless as possible. You don't just go from being terrified teen, to happy as can be, to loss of all emotions. There has to be emotion throughout, and 2013 kept Carrie as human as possible... except the ending. *POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT* Even after she stayed a person with emotions and what not all the way to her grave, afterwards they just talked about her as if she -was- an emotionless monster (similar to the 76 portrayal). This killed it for me right before the credits rolled, when that tombstone shattered with her voice screeching in the background. She died a person, and as such deserved a more reflective ending. Not trying to convince the audience at last minute that Carrie was a monstrous being who deserved to die, but rather a person like everyone else who deserved a chance to live, a chance that was taken from her by everyone around her. Anyway, this is DeviantART, and as such I ought to leave some sort of critique on this summary of the Carries to date. The 1st 2013 picture (bottom left) should have been Carrie in the closet. By that I mean the other two look more scared then hers, so taking a frame from when she was trapped (I forget if they ever gave her face a close-up during that part) would have been more fitting I think. Otherwise, keep up... whatever kind of work it is that you do these days P.S. I have seen the 76 in a looooooong time, and never touched 2002, so my opinion may very well be biased by the fact that I've seen 2013 more recently. So take any comments I make towards either for what they are... comments.
I like the 1976 version and the 2002 version. I think the only 3 thing that scared me in the 1976 version was the prom scene ,how Carries mom was a psychopath, and were Carrie's hand grabs sue's arm in her dream but the 2002 version was more like the book at least one of the movies was close enough to the book both were good though
the 1976 is so much batter then 2002 honestly really sucked i saw it while having a sleepover with at friends house but honestly i loved how you put the pics like that :3 and i saw the 1976 XD one with my mom and dad but XD funny thing but weird my high school librarian reminds me of 1976 Carrie's mom xD don't ask me why she just does xD
